2007 North Queensland Economic Development Conference
The 2007 conference was held on 29 and 30 October at the Riverway Arts Centre. The conference had the overarching theme of "Building Prosperous Partnerships", with a particular focus on skills formation strategies, infrastructure provision and regional planning, enterprise and business development, and emerging opportunities.
The 2007 conference strived to differentiate itself from other conferences by achieving real outcomes. Through the many discussions and forums that took place over the duration of the conference, it was clear that a Regional Economic Development Plan for North Queensland needs to be established. To help achieve this, a communiqué was written to seek state support for such a project. Click on the link to download the communique (784kB).
A CD was also developed that contains all presentations and materials from the 2007 North Queensland Economic Development Conference. A copy of this CD is available for purchase from Townsville City Council. If you would like to purchase a copy of the CD, or would like more information on the 2008 conference, please contact the Economic Development Unit. |
